Dr Cliff Richard & Simon Banks (04.04.12)

On Wednesday 4th April, Matthew Roberts (Halton & St Helens VCA) had the opportunity to sit down with Dr Cliff Richard (Chair of the Halton Clinical Commissioning Group) and Simon Banks (Interim Lead Chief Operating Officer of the Halton CCG). They discussed changes to Clinical Commissioning, the introduction of GP Commissioning and what this all means for the Voluntary Sector in Halton.

But have we asked the right questions? What should we be asking Cliff and Simon (on behalf of your organisations) when we next catch up? How do you think the changes they’re describing below will impact on your voluntary organisation?

Welcome to the Health ‘e’ Blog

Welcome to the Health ‘e’ Blog, Halton and St Helens VCA’s newest approach to ensuring that the voluntary sector is kept up to date with all things related to health and wellbeing.

Combined with the Health ‘e’ Times, the Health ‘e’ Blog will not only enable all concerned to disseminate information to a wide audience in an easy and cost effective way, but also enable viewers to receive first hand information, whether it be from a local group, from NHS Halton and St Helens or from the Local Authority.

Designed to include written reports, audio files and video recordings the blog will enable both voluntary and statutory sector partners to access the most up to date information available, any time, anywhere…

First up, Simon Banks and Dr Cliff Richards talk about clinical commissioning and what this means for the voluntary sector in Halton and St Helens. And over the coming months many more statutory partners will be asked to contribute to the site, as will representatives from the voluntary sector.  If you would like to be interviewed for the site please contact Laura Neilson on 01928 592 405 or e mail lneilson@haltonsthelensvca.org.uk to register an interest.
