Dave Sweeney & Dr David Lyon presented this month’s NHS Halton CCG Radio Show with Matthew Roberts in the Producer’s Chair.

Dave & David were joined in the studio by Libby Evans from the School Nurses Team at Bridgewater NHS Trust to talk about vaccinations. Helen Wilson from The Reader Organisation joined us over the phone (after a few technical gremlins had been sorted) to talk about her organisation and the joy of reading. The team discussed winter pressures on the NHS and NHS Halton CCG’s “Winter is Coming” event in November. Finally, Mike Hodginson from Healthwatch Halton joined the team to talk about reducing loneliness and isolation through hobbies.

The show also saw the introduction of Angelita’s One Minute Meditation which was scientifically proven to increase participants’ wellbeing by an average of 16% and reduce heart rates by 9 bpm.

Kemi Adeyemi (HBC’s Public Health Team) joined us over the phone to promote the Winter Warmth campaign, whilst Ellie Abernethy (Energy Projects Plus) explained the Merseyside Collective Switch & LEAP. Finally, we were joined by Sean Mellor (Widnes Vikings) to talk about the Vikings work in the local community (& the dramatic end to the season).
