Adam Britton from Bridgewater Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust was the Guest Host for this month’s One Halton Health Show on Halton Community Radio with Matthew Roberts (Halton & St Helens VCA) in the Producer’s Chair.

Our first guest (representing Well Halton) was Zoe McEvoy from Halton Borough Council’s Health Improvement Team. Zoe talked about Loneliness Awareness Week. We were then joined in the studio by Jaymie Armitage & Kate Dutton from North West Boroughs Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, who talked about their Later Life & Memory Services. Jenny Perkins & Denise Winstanley (from Bridgewater Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust) came in to chat about the Halton Bladder & Bowel Service. Finally, Claire Jones (from Halton & St Helens VCA) joined us to promote Warrington & Halton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust’s Volunteer Programme.

Matthew Roberts presented this month’s NHS Halton CCG Radio Show with Cole Toward (Halton & St Helens VCA) in the Producer’s Chair. The final ever NHS CCG Radio Show on HCR!

Our first guest was Clare Lightfoot (08.25) from Age UK Mid Mersey. Clare talked about the Older Peoples’ Forum and various ongoing Age UK Mid Mersey campaigns.

We were joined over the phone by Jess Swainson (30.20) from Bluecoat. Jess explained their Blue Room project at Norton Priory Museum & Gardens.

In hour 2, Carl Harris (50.50) explained how Halton Carers’ Centre services and activities support young Carers from the borough. Dave Sweeney (53.10) joined the conversation too and reminisced about the success of the CCG show over the past 5 years.

Finally, Chris Carlin (01.18.40) from Well Halton explained how his project had recently won a “Partnership in Innovation Award” at the NWC Research & Innovation Awards.

The team also discussed Norton Priory’s fabulous home brewed ales, Lush, Carl expressed controversial thoughts on haircuts at Halton Carers’ Centre, Chris provided a 30 second review of Everton’s season and Matthew thanked all the people behind the scenes or on air who’d worked on the NHS Halton CCG Radio Show.

Matthew Roberts presented this month’s NHS Halton CCG Radio Show with the CCG’s Alec Schofield in the Producer’s Chair.

We were joined in the studio by Alison Wallace & Rachel Davies (07.20) from the Deafness Resource Centre who talked about the services DRC are delivering in Halton. Dawn Tarpey (24.15) from Red Cross joined us to talk about how they help people returning home hospital. Di Armstrong (50.00) from NHS Halton CCG explained consultation work surrounding our Urgent Care Centres and Gill Fell (01.07.30) talked about how she helps people to feel better with mindset coaching.

The team also discussed Lung Cancer Screening Trucks, jumping out of aeroplanes for charity, Liverpool FC’s title challenge and the 80’s classic movie, Top Gun.

Matthew Roberts presented this month’s NHS Halton CCG Radio Show.

We were joined in the studio by Dr Gary O’Hare and Rob Foster (02.30) from R Health. They spoke about their efforts to improve services in GP practices across Runcorn. Also in the studio was Rebekah Walsh (46.20) from Halton Borough Council’s Health Improvement Team. Rebekah talked about the upcoming Fit 4 Life camps. Finally, Matthew spoke to Nicola Donoghue (01.13.25) from Widnes & Runcorn Cancer Support Group about their project working with young people (which has been funded by NHS Halton CCG).

Angelita Woosenam provided us with a 1 Minute Heart Breathing Meditation and Halton Carers’ Centre and Citizen Advice Halton sent in information. The team discussed male pattern baldness, Rob & Matthew’s dream of hosting “Cricket Match Special” on HCR and whether the lyrics to Soda by “Nothing But Thieves” were keeping with the general ethos of the show.

We were joined throughout the show by NHS Halton CCG’s Cath McClennan who talked about the great success of the Merseyside Maternity Vanguard. We chatted on the phone with Marissa Pendlebury about from Nourishing Routes, Lin Boyd from CE3 Enterprises and Bob Bryant from the Let’s Go Stroke Club.

The team also talked about the wider work of HCR, Christmas Dad Jokes, Matt’s goalkeeping abilities and they officially ushered in the start of Christmas by singing “The Fairytale of New York”.

We were joined throughout the show by NHS Halton CCG alumni Simon Banks and Dr Cliff Richards MBE (who updated us on their activities since leaving the CCG).

We chatted on the phone with Roy Lilley (07.00) about the Academy of Fabulous Stuff and the importance of innovation within the NHS. Later on we were joined in the studio by Sarah Johnson-Griffiths (50.00) from HBC’s Public Health Team to stress the importance of staying active and not over indulging over Christmas. Finally, Halton legend Bob Bryant BEM (01.16.58), founder of the Let’s go Stroke Club phoned in to say hello.
